I live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I love it here! The climate is great-no humidity in summer, and no snow in winter. The crime is something that one has to be aware of, but it's not like anyone lives in a crime free country anyway! There is great scenery here too and the people are generally friendly! I dig this country and I intend to stay! :)

I used to live in South africa near joburg, I live now in Australia. Beautiful country great scenery, wonderful animals and sites. Just the place is full of crime, corruption, unemployment and a really bad health system!! The poor are getting poorer and the politicians richer from corruption. When I finished matric (grade 12) there was no way that I would get a job or my brother because of our skin colour: we are white!

Well said Moloi!! Shame, poor Wilma-- u need a reality check!! Our country is absolutely beautiful! We have the Big 5, Sun City, Beaches, great climate, great wine, and Cape Town's table mountain is awesome. I was in Sun City for a weekend a couple of weeks ago and i was standing near an African American guy who was talking on his phone to someone back home in the States, and I overheard him say "I am standing here, in the most beautiful country in the world." Now what does that tell you???

Most people view it as a complicated nation, which is the truth. The borderline between the rich and the poor is too big.

South Africa has overcome alot, and is still in that process. Although, I can see changes happening, it might be slow, but it's happening.

South Africa is a vast primitive part of the continent with unharness forest and virgin lands full of wildlife such as the elephants, tigers, lions, giraffees to name a few as many rare animals are found. Discovery channel portrays it that way so as the inhabitants scantily clad. So I have that idea.

In no particular order:

Too many greedy Dutch Immigrants.
Unfortunately the society is based upon American Democracy.
Nelson Mandela is seriously Overrated.
Diamond Goldmines.
Violent street crime.
Silly accent when spoken in English.
Pointlessly hot weather,Appropriate for Lizards and Tribesmen.

I could go on but I can't be bothered, No-one really cares about South Africa is the truth.
