I went to Tokyo this Christmas and I loved it. Its true what another person said. Its cleaner then new york, safer and the people in Tokyo are very polite and try to understand you even if there is a language barrier.

The food isn't expensive compare to other contries e.g. England. But other costs e.g. cloths and electronics are the same price as england. But i can tell u they have a nice fashion taste.

What i visited which was nice was the young people area. There are plenty of cloths which are new and fashionable.

Tokyo is very nice!!

I like Tokyo better because I'm used to living there but I am much more interested in NY because of the differences in culture.
There are so many people from so many countries living in that tiny little island. I think it's awesome.

The thing about Tokyo is that yes there are many people living there from other countries but still the majority of the people are Japanese. And when I say majority I mean more than 90% are Japanese. (Obviously because the US is alot more open to immigrants than Japan)
But in NY, (at least when I went there 2 yrs ago) there are so many small communities of other cultures spread out all over the city. Italian, Chinese, Polish, Irish etc...
I thought it was awesome how you'd be walking down a street that is filled with Italian vendors and resturants and you'd turn a corner to suddenly find yourself surrounded by red signs written in Chinese characters.
Only time I experienced something like that in Tokyo was when I was walking in an area called Ogikubo which is sort of like little Korea with Korean restaurants and shops galore.

But yes, Tokyo is alot safer and cleaner as someone has mentioned. And the public transportation is dependable. Also Tokyo is big on "convenience" so you can find 24 hr mini-marts and restaurants within walking distance in any neighborhood.
Also the service in Japan is top-notch.

I actually found NYC more expensive than Tokyo as a Canadian. Both different cities and I like them both and would visit them both again, but Tokyo is my favourite. it's just so bright, loud, crazy, and busy and at the same time. It's like Tokyo is one giant Times Square. The people are friendly, helpful and theres a range of cultural, historical, entertainment, and shopping- it has something for everyone.

I've never been to NY but Tokyo is my favorite place in Asia! Lots of things to do and see. Different cultures, not just Japanese) to experience! A great place to be (I'm biased, I live in Japan)

I have never been to Tokyo and I live in NYC...
NYC is very expensive but it's worth it and I love it here. I did here that Tokyo is far more advanced technologically than us and when many of them come to NY they are not that impress with our technology.

Tokyo is way better. Less crime, nice people, cleaner streets, and more to do. Plus where else can you get your pic taken in front of a Godzilla statue?
