Elvis was a phenominal performer. I remember growing up watching Elvis movies and stuff. Of course my parents/aunts/uncles all grew up in his era and I only caught about his last 3-4 years. I have an uncle who was devastated when Elvis died. I remember we all went to his house like it was someone in our family who had passed. Another uncle on my other side named his son Elvis...he liked the name...what can I say?
So I agree, good call.

Elvis is the King of Rock 'n' Roll. Just take a look at a single scene in Jail House Rock, when Elvis swings down a poll and begins to dance. He was an absolute natural both as a singer and a dancer. As far as I know he took no dancing lessons and the scene above was largely unrehearsed. All the dancers with him are professional. Just look at their reaction to the King. They can hardly believe their eyes.

Cos the two have been Kings.. and a super form of folk say Elvis replaced into the King of dad (in his time). They even have been given the track form incorrect =X yet I take heart interior the undeniable fact that folk around me, extra of them like Michael Jackson than Elvis Presley. EDIT: you like Elvis extra, authentic?? i've got not watched Elvis, yet I did hear a number of his songs. You'r authentic that he revolutionized track throughout that era, that's why he replaced into super then. yet Michael danced like nuts while he replaced into making a track. He would desire to play the guitar too yet probable theory he wasn't super shakes at it so he did not play it.

Elvis, the king of rock & roll? The king Elvis was, was Burger King.
I'm sorry, but I can't stand Elvis. Most of my family love Elvis, and I grew up hearing a lot of Elvis played around the house. But instead of making me like him, hearing it all the time put me off his music.
Although I do have a funny story about Elvis and his birthday. I while back they did a TV special which was filmed live from Graceland, I believe it was on his birthday. Anyway, I'm with my family watching this and the presenter goes to talk to some of the fans who were there. Then we all suddenly realise it's my uncle he talks to! My uncle is a huge Elvis fan, but he never said he was going to Graceland for Elvis' birthday, and there he is, getting interviewed on TV.

I would say no to him being the greatest artist as he never really wrote any of his own material. As a performer and a singer you may have a case but imo there are people out there with a lot more talent. Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Chuck Berry are just 3 to mention who musically had more talent as they could write music and actually play their instruments well.

There was no one like Elvis! The rock artists of today owe a big debt to him-he was a big influence on many of the performers we hear today. I love listening to his music and watching his movies(when I can)because they remind me of what a great artist he really was. BTW,this year marks the 30th anniversary of his death-hard to believe, isn't it?

Chuck Berry was the true 'king' of rock 'n' roll. Elvis couldn't play the guitar, nor write a song.
