I am not sorry he is dead, but there is no need to make a spectacle of it. Protesting about it won`t bring him back. A man who killed millions even his son inlaw because he was becoming too powerful. People are very wishy washy. Suddenly now everyone is complaining about how he died. He didn`t show any mercy to his victims and neither did his sons. To the guy who said he wasn`t a threat because he was 70,thats such a joke.A friend of mine on a mission to South Africa was witness at the surgery of a 9 month old and 4 year old girl who were violently raped and one of the attackers was in his 60s and 70s so please preach to the choir.Sorry to quote scripture but if you live by the sword you will die by it and even i am not a religous person. In jail alive , he would still have been a threat to the present govt and people. When you live ina country where people at least have a small say in how they are run you can`t truly appreciate leaving in country where people have no say at all.

Hi i understand what you said Alexis but i have been in their shoes is why i understand how it feels to have your country invaded but will their protesting bring him back or should they be working at putting differences aside and strengthening their nation. He is gone and the man didn`t kill 50 people, he killed alot more than 50 and regardless of his intent he didn`t have a right to kill someone because they opposed or disagreed with him.

I also lived and was raised in a country where you didn`t have any rights. I participated in all ways i could to try and educate my country men, but i was just a woman so what do i know. There is times when one does have to rule with an iron fist and i can understand self preservation but not every killing was based on self preservation. The point he is gone and they would need to find a way forward.
I know exactly what living under an iron fist is and it breeds contempt and absolute power corrupts even the best of us, so he was no saint. And like someone responded he is gone and theres no need to condemn him but i am appalled by comments made where people are making him into a saint. Yes he was hanged and despite the political rubbish going on all governments were aware of his sentence and execution.
No man is a saint.
I hope i answered your inquiry shogunyl. I hope i got the spelling of your alias right.
Thanks

This is in response to Azumi, I don`t just listen to US media. I conduct my research own my own. I have been on numerous islamic news website and i studied with an Iman Cleric in my native country. You asked where i got evidence he killed millions of people, do you have evidence he didn`t?
And my reference to his age was in response to another guy who said they should have considered his age and did nothing to him. He said 70 year old people are defenseless and my example was to prove to him that he was wrong, so before you misquote something i said please read it through.
I do not support the iraqi war because no one can truly make a place a better place, except the people themselves. The point don`t kill each other over his death. It would not solve anything, coming together will help heal. The Holy Qu`ran i read didn`t seperate people it brought people together and i am Christain.
So before you decide to respond, read what i said through and thanks for the enlightening response.

i LIVE in a country where one can't say anything about how they are gov- where are YOU from ?
in case you are from HERE , i don't know what i'm writing about , i just have this syndrome called yahoo answers where people answer stuff .
anyway . regarding the way he was killed , i will have you know this :-
1) if you knew anything about developing countries , you might appreciate how difficult it might be to maintain NATIONAL INTEGRITY and SOLIDARITY , because "WE THE PEOPLE" sometimes are a group of ignorant shepherds who , if given the choice, would easily kill you just for the fun of it , and for TRIBAL PRIDE .
as a citizen of one such country , i must state that i understand it when rulers do themost to keep everything in order , even though some PUBLIC rights are sacrificed ,...... anything but CHAOS !
although i know arab governers IDEALLY should improve the HUMAN RIGHTS profile, ensure SOCIAL SECURITY etc , and i do blame them for not doing all they could , but as long as they don't go on rampages and killing sprees , i think it is acceptable for a ruler to do all he can to make sure there is no OTHER AUTHORITY but himself , because life would be virtually hell , if there had to be , for example, a SADDAM in every neighbourhood .i hope that made sense to you .
2.most massacres SADDAM is accused of , if they are to be called so , were against :-
.people who ADMITTEDLY were trying to REMOVER and/or KILL HIM .
.people who ADMITTEDLY co-operated with the enemy during time of war .
.a miscellany of individuals who were not exactly INNOCENT of POWER ABUSE themselves , although that was not directly why they might have fallen into disfavour with SADDAM .
now TELL ME , if YOU were a leader of a thirdworld country , and you happened to be passing through a conscience crisis , and you suddenly found GOD , and you vow to yourself to do EVERYTHING you could to make yourcountry better , :-
.would you forgive someone who had the audacity , the purpose and means to attempt to assassinate you , the de-facto most powerful person in the land ?
.how would you treat people who lived all their lives as subjects in your country , and who benefited on every occasion possible from the citizenship of your country , and who in return are so eagre to sell that country to the highest bidder ?
3) the man obviously did a lot for his country , when he could have been living in the luxury and security of political passiveness and let the country rot .
you see how IRAQ is today , minus SADDAM .
is it not possible that the PEOPLE themselves DICTATE the way they could be governed ?
could it be that when a populace is largely composed of primitive , freedom loving bedouin tribes , who actually believe a PROPHET will come out of a cave anyday now and therefore wait infront of this cave (it is said SADDAM put a piece of artillery opposite the mouth of the cave , so people would not hope so much on the appearance of this saviour , saying "if he were to come out of the cave, i will blow him back in" ), when a people are so ignorant and thereby prone to violence , noncompliance and political speculation and less inclined to conformity with a NATIONAL GOVERNMENT , when people are that way , could it not be concieved that a strong ruler is needed to govern with a hand of steel for the GREATER GOOD ?
you don't hear so much whining about , for example , STALIN, who killed people LITERALLY IN THE MILLIONS , but , WHATEVER HE MIGHT HAVE DONE , history must necessarily applaud that man , who effectively turned RUSSIA from FEUDAL PEASANT TSARDOM to an ATOMIC AGE SUPERPOWER in record time .
SADDAM didn't commit one billionth of that , yet he is considered the offspring of the devil .
4)whatever he might have done, there is something to be said for treating one's old , vanquished enemies with a minimum of DIGNITY .
the man was not a bankrobber nor was he a rapist ! he was the head of one of the greatest countries on the planet !if he must have been murdered , let it be in the agreed honorable way for an ex-military commander in chief , by the FIRING SQUAD and AFTER all DIRTY OCCUPYING MERCENARIES left the country .

1) u said he killed millions.. do u hv evidence? if u do why didnt u put them...
true that protesting wont bring him back.. but what do you expect them to do keep quite..((they want to protest..so let them..( if ur against that..then u hv no right to talk about the freedom to speak..))
2)u said '' people are very wishy washy'' : America said that they wanted to make Iraq a better place.. (for people).. but they didnt .. they hv been in Iraq for a long time and insted of things improving they got worse..(how many years do you expect Iraq to stay like this..? how many years do u want them 2 suffer while they waite?)
innocent people are being killed.. an some of them are starving..
some of my friends families have been murdered because there is no security in Iraq now that America has invaded them..
at least when Saddam was their there was some form of security an a government..
3)u said '' he didn't show any mercy to his victims'': now did America or Israil show any mercy to there victems..? ( u only now what is shown on the media..) they dont show any mercy at all.. if as America says that there technology is acurat then why did most of there boms fall at the wrong place killing innocent people.. In Palictine.. people dont hv wepons to defend them selves the only wepons that they hv are the ones they steel or get from an Israily dead fighter..(and thats not much..)
u might think where do i get this information from..(i get it from the media that is not allowed to be broadcasted in Europ.. its called ALJAZERA..plus some of my friends have imegrated from Palistinens and Iraqes..)
oh.. did the crusades hv mercy to there victems??
4) what has ur friend in south africa got to do with Saddam's age??
just because some sick person raped a girl while he is in his sixtes dosn't mean that Saddame is gonna brake free of prison, if he was sentensed to life time impresntment..(or are you not confident in Americas secure jails..!!!)..
5) u said '' when u live in a country where people at least hv a small say in how they run u cant appreciate leaving in country where people have no say at all'' : (i dont really understand what u mean by this..) but to me it sounds like ur agreeing that Amirica is not giving Iraq a full democracy.. so what was the point of this war? (bloodshed..?)..
6) Bush and Blair hv killed thousnds of inocent people ..
my friends country shars a border with Iraq and lots of boms droped down on his country.. ( by Accident)..(his country had nothing to do with the war).. a school was destroyed and a hundred innocent people were killed most were children.. and on the edge of the border some women are having defficulty geting pregnant becaus of the amount of bilogicul wepon that was used aroun that area..
so now that Bush and Blair hv killed thousand of inocent people.. will they be hanged for crimes against humanity..?
if not,.. then why??
oh.. and leaders dont get hanged they get shot in the head.. so hanging Sadam was a humilation to the Arab world.. thats why people were angry...

It just shows you how crazy some of those people over there really are. They get upset ove nothing and burn down or blow up their houses and neighborhoods. Whoa, wait a minute, didn't that happen in L.A. when OJ was arrested? Maybe California is actually a middle eastern country. Man, I will ponder that one today!

I suffered myself and my father from Kuwait Invasion 1990. Saddam was behind that decision. While after death we can not talk about any dead body. Let'm face his fate and this will be the decision of Allah. I'm disagree with people who said 'To Hell' or 'To Heaven'
Our feelings are kept during his life only.

nice reveiw of wats happenning.
i have to agree, although i am a religiouse person i see no reason why people in my own country - iraq - are unhappy about saddam's death. like u said, protesting won't bring him back.
i really can't understand why people are protesting when he was the person who started all the trouble in the first place.
he might have had a dot of good inside him but he didn't show it to his country so i'm glad he's gone.
but like i said i really don't understand wat all the protesting is about.
it could just be my youth and the fact that i don't understand politics, or it could be something else.
anyway. he killed half his country so my personal thoughts are:
I'M GLAD HE'S GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the irony of the whole thing is that saddam was helped by the usa to fight against iran
the usa and isaddam had many secret dealings.
saddam did not kill as many ppl as bush has done already.
ans we all know bush was scared for the secrets of the iraqi american dealings should come out. thats why they could not wait to kill saddam.
n the other hand Tarik Aziz the ex foregin minister of iraq has many of the answers the world is waiting to hear. But the americans will not let him out of prision. They cannot kill him like saddam because he has commited no crime against nayone. but they will not let him out to talk to the world. WHY?

You cannot understand something until you put yourself in their shoes. You might hate your leader but if someone from another country attack your country, capture him, humiliate him and kill him during your religion festival day, you will be provoked as well. We sit confortably here while they're living in a place like hell because some of us think that attacking their country is for our and their best interest. Adios. Sayonara
