Oh Ashley! Didn't anyone tell you? We're not in Love we're in Lust, brought on by our having been susceptible to Satan and his demon horde...blablabla
I suppose they look at those among us who live a more physical, hedonistic lifestyle (cruising and cottaging) and tar everyone with the same brush.
God forbid that there should exist Jack the Lads and alcoholic slappers who do pretty much the same thing in the straight world. At least, they can be forgiven because they're not an abomination before God...(more blablabla).
Besides, you and I both know that every homophobe only ever performed the sexual act post marriage and solely with the express purpose of procreation. :)
We're not allowed to love - were different/disgusting.

We could sit here debating the reason why homophobic people don't understand gay love, I guess you can call it...but the subject falls under all types of areas, hate, ignorance, people hate things they don't understand as if they were a prehistoric primate trying to create a fire in to-days society..but in all honesty until it impacts us we then take it upon ourselves to try to understand it. The point of the matter is why waste your time trying to figure out people that don't even take the time to understand the way of life WE have choice. Be happy, live life fast, love a lot, smile!!!!!!!

I have been wondering the same question myself. I wish they knew what it felt like. To live in a world where you are not accepted by the majority of the population. To walk down a street and have people stare and make comments. Where holding hands and kissing in public is not right. If they experienced that maybe that would be a reality check and they would change their opinion.

It's a common natural reaction -- People who are different are scary.
Unless you've been raised around gay people or been raised with an open mind, you'll find them mildly frightening or "bad"
I however understand that fully. A good friend of mine is gay (You can smell him a mile away) and he's been happily with his partner for over two years now. I've never seen such love and devotion. :)

They are stuck on the idea that gay love is a physical desire only or on a religious issue. They'll probably never understand so it's hardly worth letting it ruin your day with their ignorance and hate. It's their loss. Ignorance and hate will eat them up inside.

I think it comes down to a couple of simple things.
1 fear of difference
2 they have been told by other people that it is sinful
3 they might have feelings towards another of the same sex and since they have been bombarded by the message that it is sinful then they try to hate it even more. the sad part about it is that in reality they really hate themselves.
pathetic

i personally think they do, but they just love to hate. it's stereotyping type thing. for instance i've heard stories where guys would come out of the closet and everyone assumed they were petifials. it's stereotyping and true hatred. both are wrong!

easy: the factor of conflict of words is: do gays have the comparable civil rights as people, or shoudl they be deined such rights on account of their sexual orientation? people who say gays could desire to be denied civil rights are calling for discrimination and unequal therapy under the regulation. this is merely bigotry -- or hmophobia. there is no way around it. Oppose respecting the civil rights of regulation-abiding people on accont of their inner maximum sexual preferenes is bigotry. end of debate.
