About 2 months back I asked a question. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aq96p_mjTTX9S2vJdgE3tc3sy6IX?qid=20061114114314AAkBER9
And I basically passed it off and didn't get tested because I had my period, it wasn't heavy like it normally is for me but it lasted long enough so I wasn't at the time worried about it. Then about maybe the past 2 weeks i've kind of became really nautious(sp?), i've had a lot of extra saliva i'm not even sure if that's a symptom, i've been dropping a lot of weight since I have pills that make me not have an appetite but my stomach isn't. It's been more round and pushing out. Not drastically though, it just looks funny. And I also got these really sharp pains in the past week near my pelvic region, and at first I was thinking like maybe it was having to do with my upcoming period but they were completely different and hurt! I'm just wondering if i'm overreacting, or can you still get periods when you are pregnant I always get mixed answers?

I'm not taking diet pills :( i'm taking pills that are treating me for bipolar, they just cause me to lose my appetite and i've been losing weight over it. That's the reason why i'm in this, those are the pills that caused the birth control to possibly fail on me.

Id go see a doctor to make sure or do a home pregnancy test although a blood test would be better cos you can have a period while pregnant although its rare and if you are it might be hard for a home pregnancy test to distinguish if your pregnant good luck hope you get the answer your looking for yes you always get mixed answers on here but that's the way it goes. Different people different views ;)

It could be pregnancy - nausea is definitely a symptom and I experienced the excess saliva when I was pregnant. Weight loss will occur in the early months which also happened to me. Take a test, see your doctor and check out those pains. If you are not pregnant you want to know what it is and take care of it; if you are pregnant you'll want to make sure it isn't ectopic.

Maybe your constipated - hence the 'bloated' tummy? Maybe your diet needs to be looked at - lack of fibre?...Sometimes when you are pregnant you still can have a period but usually its a short period with not much blood. (hope I am not being too graphic!)Swollen boobs with darkened nipples is another sign. As is the nausea, frequent urination and maybe even losing your taste for some foods.....Just get it checked out girl. Every woman is different I guess but with both of my pregnancy's I knew I was literally to the day. Its just a 'feeling' you get...as a woman..you just know! Good Luck to you.

Yes you can get your period while your pregnant my aunt had hers all through her pregnancy although it isn't that common, my advice to you is go to the Dr. especially if you are taking tablets cause if you are pregnant it can hurt the baby and if you aren't pregnant then it is always good to get a check up just in case there is something else wrong.

HELLO: My mother is a obgyn and this is what she wrote to you! :)
A woman cannot be pregnant and also have her period. If she got her period, she is not pregnant. Also, if she has a normal 28 day cycle (from the first day of her period until the first day of her next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. She can only become pregnant on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16. She cannot become pregnant on any other day of the month. She cannot become pregnant four days before starting her period. If she does become pregnant on one of the days I mentioned, she will miss her next period and a pregnancy test taken a week after she misses her period will be positive. Once she is on the pill, her chances of becoming pregnant drop to less than 1%. Don't worry.

you will still probably get mixed answers, because some people are going to tell you that if you have your period you are not pregnant and some are going to tell you that its ok to have your period when pregnant. I on the other hand not knowing your body am just going to suggest going to an OB or even your family doctor to get tested and tell them everything you have told us, they are professionals and would be more than happy to help you.
i hope it all works out, good luck. :)

I think you need to get yourself to a doctor. It probably isn't related to the other episode, but you have all the symptoms of an egtopic or tubal pregnancy which is related to the most recent cycle.

you can get your period and still be pregnant. you should definately get yourself a test and take it just to be sure. the pains you are describing sound like the pains i had when I first got pregnant the dr told me it was my ligaments stretching to make room for the baby.

Why don't you ease your fears and go get a pregnancy test. Especially if you are taking diet pills.
