Have never seen the ocean so it's important to be right on the water. May consider a B&B if the price is right. We' re a yound couple with 4 children so the cost is VERY important. Have looked at the Wilimington area, but no nothing about the N.C. coast. Thank you for any help you can share. A.Patton

I think Kitty Hawk area might be more expensive! I just have this feeling. I would try down by Wrightsville Beach by Wilmington if you have looked in this area. The guys at Weather channel always talk about how nice it is there. I actually would recommend going a little further south and go to Myrtle Beach SOUTH Carolina. It is at the northern end of the coast, very affordable and very kid friendly. I go there every spring myself and eventually hope to move there. Have fun on your vacation wherever you decide to go.

Having vacationed up and down the NC coast over the past 2 a lengthy time period, such as the Outer Banks, certainly, Holden coastline or any of the Brunswick County beaches are great and are my own favorites. All are very quiet and non violent yet with plenty to do close by in Wilmington and Myrtle coastline once you've an pastime in going out. also, i'm not particular what style of eating places you're looking for yet evaluate attempting between the seafood eating places (my own fashionable is Capt'n Nances) in Calabash, NC, placed in very southeast nook of the state merely throughout the state line from South Carolina. Their dishes are impressive and lunch specials are low in fee at round $6. besides the actual incontrovertible truth that in cutting-edge years the costs there have all started to really spike it remains extremely nicely worth it once you've an pastime in getting faraway from the crowds (all have very open beaches the position you may walk your pets).

WE went to kitty Hawk this summer, it was really fun I have kids too and we stayed right on the beach. there are a few chain hotels, I believe it is a courtyard or a Hilton. If you look up things with kitty Hawk or kill devil hills you will find some other places to stay. Also Myrtle beach is not too far into SC coast and it has a ton of places to stay.

I suggest Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk also. We stayed in a time share condo that was right on the beach. The beaches are beautiful and not crowded at all. The restaurants were great and we were never bored (boogey boarding, shopping, parasailing on the sand dunes, visiting lighthouses, etc.). Have a great trip and enjoy your first visit to the ocean!!

I would strongly suggest looking at the Topsail Island area. This is prime beachfront property that is not overrun by large hotel chains and tons of beach going tourists. It is relatively close to Wilmington (30-45 minutes) and is absolutely gorgeous.
Visit the website below for some more information, or simply search "Topsail Island" or "North Topsail Island" on your favorite search engine.
