I believe that the hardest thing about marriage is to understand the differences you and your partner have and are able to come to agreements. Understanding that you can't change your partner no matter how hard you try. Be understanding and considerate of their feeling as well as their differences. Marriage is a very complicated union, it takes two to make it work. It can't be a one-sided union.

Children! They are the greatest reward but take the greatest toll in those first years of marriage and first years of childhood! Finding time and energy for one another is important and those first years it becomes a struggle managing money, babies, etc.!

Having sufficient tolerance and patience toward one another on a steady, ongoing basis. Having enough forgiveness, because you are BOTH going to make mistakes and hurt one another's feelings; it happens.
