Hiya Thomas, ok my answer to your question is:
My dad taking me up to the old "dell"...lets say a few years ago, with players such as Mick Channon, Stevie Williams, Peter Shilton, Joe Jordan, Peter Osgood, etc....you know we had a great team in 1976.....won the FA cup final (wont say against who...coz you know that answer). Im sure my dad wanted a boy and just ended up with me, so I got to sit on his shoulders and be the boy he never had.....as you know...im still a vocal supporter of my team. My child will never be conceived anywhere near the west of Southampton, and would never ever even consider supporting or playing for POMPEY.

Liverpool of course.. back when I was 8 I wasn't really interested in any clubs because the supporters don't sing or chant their team with a proper tune, I watced all EPL matches and noted that there is something unique at Liverpool's stadium... before and after the game, Liverpudlians would sing You'll Never Walk Alone... During the match they sing other songs that hv a proper tune unlike other supporters. i browsed a website and according to a survey, although Anfield is smaller than Old trafford(Man U), the noise generated by the fans is uncomparable.
if I am a dad the wordt team for my kid is man u... i would tear his posters prohibit him from watching their matches

It was the people around me, rather than a particular player that i decided to follow City when i was a kid although Kinkladze was a fairly big influence. The worst person for my kid to support would be ManUre although if he said Chelsea he might find he's off the Christmas list for a bit until he learnt some sense.
Strangely enough when i was growing up my favourite player was Cantona - i loved the way he moved round the pitch, his passing.... he was just a great player to watch.

i'm now 32 and stay in Blackburn. imagine what it became like in 1999 to convince my 3 year previous, Ciaran, that city were his crew when we were third Tier, his interior sight crew became maximum suitable League (Blackburn Rovers) and United were prevailing the Treble!! I even believe that my son will be rewarded for my staying power and that i oftentimes take him to city matches. he's city Mad! Unbelievably some cheeky so and so referred to as me a glory hunter lately, regardless of the very truth i'm from Manchester and performance been following city my complete existence, now to not tutor the actual undeniable truth that we nonetheless haven’t received something in my lifetime!! If fathers didnt push their communities onto their youthful ones i think 1/2 the communities in England would bypass bust interior a era (the coolest judgment being that many youthful ones independant selections will be between the great 4). My football crew has an identity: Manchester city = Mancunian

When I was 18 months old Dad took us to go see Stadio Del Alpi when we were holidaying in Europe... from then on I supported Juventus. I'm from Australia and have always supported my local team which is Adelaide United. In the EPL I support Liverpool... it began as a joke to p*ss the neighbours off now its a friendly rivalry which has been going on for over 10 years!!!
My Dad has been my biggest influence.
When I have kids they can support whoever they like... I'm not going to influence them. If they support the rivals it'll be more fun for me!!!

I became an admirer of both Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard who have both played at Anfield. That's basically why I support Liverpool. Um...as for who my kids support. I'm pretty open, so I'll let them support whichever team they decide.

it's a family thing in my case. my mom was of catalan extraction so it was natural for us kids to become barca fans. also, the men in my family from my great grandpa down to my 2 brothers admired this filipino-catalan player who once played famously for barca. my kids, when I have them, can choose their teams but there will be no chelsea fan in the family, I’ll see to that. : ))

West Ham, my local club.
I wonder how many people, who are posting messages on here, support their closest team?
