sometimes people are both, and they still won't do a thing about anything. All they do is complain about it.They say, "I'm gonna do this.or I'm gonna do that..but I can't because of _______, blah blah" and poor them and all that. What a bore!
But, for people like that my Nona has a saying:
"Sh*t or get off the pot, but don't tell me how your tucas is sore!"
Good advice from an old woman!
Malcom was trying to get people to stop complaining and DO something... kinda like my Nona, lol!

First - I believe that there is a difference between sadness and anger; to me, at least, they are two distinct emotions.
I do believe that anger is the greater motivator of the two. When one is sad, it often feels as though there's nothing that can be done to change matters. When one is angry, on the other hand, it seems to be almost instinctive to try to do SOMETHING about the situation (even if it's not the wisest thing to do). I believe that if a person can keep his/her anger at a constructive level, rather than working in a blind rage, that such a person can be motivated to act, and can accomplish many things that they would not if they were merely sad.

I depends what type of sadness and anger you are talking about. There is a vice and virtue to both. Sadness and anger lead both lead to the same thing. This is just a meaningless quote because it is taken out of context. It is obvious this was used to strike up some physical revolt. I mean if you don't know who Malcolm X is and his historical significance this quote is pointless. This isn't really philosophy it's history.

when i'm angry, i cry out of frustration and a feeling of helplessness and hopelessness
when i'm sad i have a straight face and say and do nothing
what brings about change is not an emotion of anger but the individual himself and society

When i see flaw in others, and it makes me angry, the flaw i see is ALWAYS my own flaw reflected back to me. Every thing about your enviornment is but a reflection of your own spiritual condition. Desire, through Karma, actions in thought word and deed are the creators of your life circumstances and destiny.Deal with your inner condition by finding unity with God in unconditional love, then find outer peace through unconditional love. I believe Dr. Martin Luthor King Jr. is a much better roll model for all ones problems in life. I find him to be among the worlds greatest Saints. Look at the changes he brought about with Uncondition love.

may be when they become angry they re-volute!!they ask for their rights! they scream so that the community can hear them!!and fulfill their demands!!i think all revolutions were the results of a scream from angry people!!like the french revolution!!and the July revolution of EGYPT!! and the Algerian revolution!!so their screams changed everything!!
