As an atheist I do not consider the concept of "soul" meaningful,-certainly not something that survives physical death. Otherwise, as far as I am concerned it is just the same as personality or personal identity, --the stream of historical personal narrative that I call "self",-and which distinguishes "me" from "other".

Ok a little philosiphical!
What matters for me the most is the peace of my soul.
Reality and truth.
I think that the present era doesnt allow our souls to ponder on such issues. We people are so busy in earning our luxuries for a life that oneday has to end that we simply forget about what is the secret of sending humans to the earth......
I know it sound a bit religious but really we humans have turned a deaf ear to our souls requiremants and are running behind only and only materialistic things.I dnt mean to say that we should not concentrate on our presentlife. We should but we mustnt forget that it is the soul which is in the body not body is in soul so we ahould try to nourish our souls not destroy them........As most of the people are doing!

The "soul," universally, is a broad concept. To Theology, one's soul is what moves on after death into paradise. To philosophy, the soul is what others see in you even if you're not around anymore. The soul can also be referred to as an ultimate feeling or manifestation of oneself. The list goes on...
Now, what do our daily actions (as you said, the stuff that happens before death) do to our soul?
Simple. What we do right now decided what happens to our soul after. Will we go to heaven or hell? Will people remember us fondly or with hate?
Remember, your body is your body - simply what allows your soul to manifest itself. When you lose a limb or hair, you still stay as who you are. But when you lose your soul, that which identifies your being, you lose YOU.
God Bless.

Our soul is inside of others, we live inside the minds of others. Our environment creates the illusion of an ego. Our soul is the memories our environment has to acknowledge our existence. Our environment defines our morals, our philosophy/identity. Our bodies are merely just bodies with autonomous control, but they are priceless because without them our ability to change our environment ends, our story ends. The soul dies when you are eventually forgotten and fade away into the collective universe, ultimately to infinitely repeat everything. You see we are all infinitely old parts of the universe living the same existence over and over, we just don't realize it. Our souls are alive and well, death is only an illusion. Nothing is everything.

Are you a person that has a soul or a soul whom has a person? Most people's soul remains subliminal while they are in the body, resulting in the soul being lead blindly through physical life by the ego.

There are no such things as 'souls.' Humans are simply complex animals.

While I live, I learn. I am always learning and living life. While we are still living, it is hoped that we spend it wisely and choose good paths in life, for we will be judged someday.
