Can they do that while the mobile is off?

Hey guys..Either you are positive about it or not, i want to be positive about the possibility of tracking a switched-off phone or not!

It is possible , they trace the signal the mobile phone sends to whatever satellite or coverage tower. This might get a little confusing as a mobile phone recieves signal from the tower , but it still has to send a small signal as a request for that coverage pretty much just like when you click a link on a website. When the mobile's off it can only be traced through the passive energy wave released from the battery , which wouldn't be exactly tracing the particular phone but any mobile phone compatible batteries within a certain area

Yes, that's correct, and it also works when the mobile is off. When it's off, your mobile can still receive messages for your combox.
