I was just wondering. I wear Abercrombie, Hollister, and AE mostly, and yes, so do all my friends, but they people who call it unoriginal are usually the ones who buy overpriced goth/emo clothes with their freak friends at Hot Topic. People think A+F is so cookie cutter, and anyone who wears it is a dumb "prep". Well, real preps wear Lacoste and Lily and things like that. I think I'm original, I'm on Honor Roll, I've won prizes for my artwork and photography, but when people see me with a moose on my shirt they make assumptions. And I don't judge people who wear skulls and razor earrings.

Well I mean if it bothers you to been steriotyped for dressing cute [I really don't see why it would] then buy clothing from somewhere with neutral style like JcPenny's or something.

But I do agree about Hot Topic. What's so non-conformist about it ?? Everyone there dresses the same & the stuff is just as expensive as A&F, with even less variety it seems like b.c every effin thing is black! At least "preppy" people branch out a little on the color wheel.

Keep dressing how you want. Let people make assumptions, because if you're wearing A&F, Hollister, AE ect., those assumptions will most likely be "she's popular, has money, & is trendy." Not exactly bad.

PS :: Stores like dELiA*s & Alloy put an electic spin on the standard A&F look with more varying styles .. you might like their stuff if you want to stand out from your friends a little.

It's my personal opinion that the clothes at Abercrombie, Hollister, and AE are: cheaply made, over priced, and yes, I think they put the outfits together in such a way that people kind of lose their sense of personal style and all of the clothes look the same.

HOWEVER - who cares? That's why I choose not to wear them. If that's your thing, go ahead.

I know highschool can suck, but you should ignore people. More or less, the clean cut kids from my high school who wore the A+F stuff are the ones that, so far, have done better.... more or less... Just do what you want to do.

And remember high shcool is like 720 days out of 25000+ of your life.

Additionally, most of the goth/punk kids still work at gas stations and what not... :P

**Just an example from my high shcool, no one needs to get mad at me**

Dress how you want to. Its your style. Those people who spend time telling you those things probably have nothing better to do with their time. Face it there will always be stereotypes. Live your life how you want to.
Congrats on your achievements.
