For an irregular, nonabsorbent solid, I suppose you would call it the 'displacement and weighing' method. E.g. for a pebble. Weigh on an electronic balance, to get the mass Immerse in a partly filled measuring cylinder and note the height-change of the liquid; this gives the liquid's displacement, which equals the object's volume. Density = mass/volume
