Oregon has no sales tax...I imagine there are other states with no sales tax as well.

Rich is, of course, incorrect. There are more. I have found New Hampshire to be cheapest overall for shopping. I have been to 48 states and shopped in all of them. Aside from that, prices have been going up recently everywhere.

States with no sales tax: Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon

There are only two states without sales tax. Delaware and Oregon. Oregon has the Nike store in Portland and several big malls. Also, the scenery is awesome. I like Delaware but I think Oregon is the better choice, unless you are flying into the east coast.

Well I believe in Connecticut it is still 6%, and in case you didn't know there is currently no national sales tax. I understand the tax is super high in NYC, so if you can venture outside the city to shop that would be your best bet. It also depends on what you buy, ie- cigarettes in CT have a higher tax. Google the states you are thinking about visiting, you should be able to find this info on their official websites. Connecticut's website is http://ct.gov Enjoy your trip! :)
