If you are using Windows XP you can use System Restore:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Resore
From here just follow the on-screen instructions and you should be fine.

There you have many restore points stored at different date. Choose the one you want and restore your computer to the date you want. It may take some minutes so be patient. And your computer will restart. This action is reversible.

what you are refering to is called a system restore. there are different ways to do it. your computer probably has one or more restore points automatically saved. easiest way to find that out is to do a search (start menu, search) for all files and folders with the words system restore. for restore points not automatically set by your computer you can create whats called recovery disc. your computer shoul tell you precissely how to do this in the help menu. in doing this you save the current settings and configurations of the computer, so that if, say, a virus messes your machine up, you can restore it to the point last saved before the virus. recovery discs are highly recommended.

start menu to program files then to accessories then to system tools the click on system restore and there it will show you dates and times where it made system restore points. click on the week you want. Follow the instructions it is easy. I love this I have used ot many times!

Careful though, because i lost something and did the sytem restore to a week before and my McAfee virus thing stopped and i had to re - install it..
if there is someone you know that knows what they are doing... ask them to do it.
