Howdy peeps....

I'm a computer network at work and this message comes up in the morning when I log in....any ideas what it's going on with?

'Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused windows defender Service to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or search Help and Support on how to start a service manually.'

Thanking you all in advance!

It may be that your version of Windows Defender has expired - especially if the problem did not occur last year! (first link)
To remove the existing version, use Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel.
Then go to the second link below to get the latest version.
Or don't. I'm not sure that I would want to reload software which behaved in this way!
Good Luck, whatever you decide...

Yes mine did this as well.I had to uninstall Defender to get rid of it.
When I went to reinstall, I found that Windows 2000 no longer supports Defender.XP ONLY NOW.Thanks M.S.

It seems that there was an error in the Windows Defender program.

Call your technical support round and see what they can do for you.
