Several years ago, I spent a brief period of my life as an employee at a metaphysical bookstore. During this time, I had the opportunity to sell many crystals to practitioners of alternative medicine and the Wicca religion. Through my experiences, there is one things that I've come to realize about crystals and their unseen properties....... It's a load of bull.

When I sold these crystals, I would describe the "energies" that I felt coursing through the crystal. These descriptions were merely catchphrases that I used based on what the person seemed interested in. On top of that, no matter what I described of the crystal's properties, the buyer would also claim to feel those same energies. If I said that a piece of quartz had "strong healing properties," then that is what the buyer felt as well. If I claimed that an amethyst had "great potential for positive energy," then they swore that they also felt that when they touched it. It was a trick of the mind, but that was all that they needed to believe, and the crystals would actually seem to work for them because they believed in it. In essence, I sold metaphysical placebos.

Either that, or I have hidden psionic talents, and was subconsciously describing the true nature of the crystals.

I believe we are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense.

crystals take a little bit of experience to be able to use them well.

They pick up energies and amplify them. If you give them very pure loving energies they give you back more of the same, but they can also pick up bad vibes and amplify them...

people have all sorts of ways to clean their energy and keep them pure.

If someone makes sure the energy is clean then it would be an amazing spiritual place to meditate, but if the energy goes bad it wouldn't be very good for you...
