Olive Oil is wonderful for the skin. My mother put it on all of us when we were babies now she puts in on my brothers children.
It's great for the skin. I think that's the secret to how we all don't look a day pass 20!!

Olive oil is VERY gentle to babies skin, and is often used for cradle cap, or scaley scalp. Olive oil has been used on babies for centuries. It is sometimes called sweet oil.

Olive oil is fine to use. I used it on my babies for cradle cap and also on their little bottoms so the meconium poop wouldn't stick.

there are good non-allergenic baby oils out there, and I would advise that

even in families with no allergic tendencies, research has shown that early exposure to potentially allergenic substances, could sometimes cause problems.

of course the worse, by far, is peanut butter (which is in many "good for the skin" lotions). But just be careful at least during the first 6 months.
