Slow isn't the word for it, I think insanity inducing is more accurate.

It is insanity inducing! Most people that have it probably can't afford broadband.

I have dial up. I have had dsl (and cable) and for what I use the internet for dial up is almost as fast. For example, the Yahoo Answers pages might take half a second longer to load for me on my dial up than for those on cable, but half a second is really nothing. If I was viewing or downloading a lot of graphics, or other large files, then yes dial up would be a bore, but for what do on line it is just fine thanks.

When i was on dial up, it would sometimes take 45 minutes just to get my homepage up!! It got to the point that I was so angry I unplugged the modem, chucked it in a carrier bag and threw it at the back of the cupboard (and broke it) Then went onto DOS and deleted everything from the harddrive!! Bye bye computer!! Got a newer one, on broadband now but its still slow cos my BBIP is crap!!

If you can't, you have an anxiety problem. See, some think one way and others, like old granny's, think in other ways. When ya get old it takes so long to get ready to use the net that the net is running by the time we are ready. We are not slow but our minds are stuck in first gear. rrrrrruuuuummmmmmm rrrrrruuuuuuuummmmmmmmmm. Smile.

Well if you're downloading video all day then dialup would suck, but if all you're doing is checking emails and such, it really isn't a lot slower. Let's face it, email on dialup is still a whole lot faster than putting a letter in the post!

If they have never known DSL they won't miss it. Besides I would be thrilled to have dial up opposed to no internet at all. They still don't have it in out in the country or BOONDOCKS as we call it.

I was just about to order dial up access because it was cheaper. If it's that bad I'll stick with what I'm using now!

Broadband is for people who want to download porn and pirated music/movies.
There is no need for broadband!
