She always loved him. She didn't really want to marry St John. The only reason she left him was because he was already married to Bertha NOT because she stopped loving him. The call she hears at the window of 'Jane! Jane!' makes her think Rochester is in trouble (a bit daft you could say, but I suppose she is looking for any excuse to go back to him) so she goes to find him.

She hears a call that she thinks is Rochester calling her for help so she goes back to him...because she wants to help him with whatever trouble she believes he is in and because she loves him and realizes she never should have left him. It's been a long time since I've read this book. Now you've made me want to re-read it again. :)

One of my favorite books. Although I haven't read it in a long time. I believe it was because she heard his voice calling to her in the wind and at that moment she decided she needed to be with him.
