I would agree with you that this is another fine example of this government atempting to justify certain policies and actions by keeping us frightened and presenting it as being aware. It increasingly smacks of the misuse of language depicted in Orwell's Big Brother. The pathetic presentation of open government at a time when they are seeking to get rid og the Human Rights Act and limit the information provided under the Freedom of Information Act should relegate the architects of this nonsense to the dustbin of history

It does seem a bit dramatic as the levels of terrorism go's from moderate to high to severe almost on a weekly basis, there would be millions of people getting text's and what are we supposed to do, panic. run home?
