I was driving to my local dole office this morning when I heard a siren behind me, I looked in the rear view mirror and all the traffic was pulling over to let this big white glorified transit past, I stood my ground however, there was no way i was going to be bullied and beeped at by anyone, I even reduced my speed to 18 mph just to teach them a lesson, i held out for 9 miles till they got to the hospital. Has anybody else witnessed such bad manners and ludicrous behaviour from our so called emergency services?

I have the other day I was minding my own business when a fire engine tried to pass me no way jose I said and weaved in front of them(at great risk to myself and the oncoming traffic)to stop their antics. the next morning I read in the paper that a factory not far from the scene burned to the ground killing hundreds of people now surely they should have been there dousing the flames instead of trying to race top speed down the high street

The only bad manners and ludicrous behavior I see being exhibited comes from you, and only you. I live in the state of Alabama and the law was passed recently stating it is against the law for another vehicle not to allow an ambulance to pass. You obviously have no consideration for your fellow human to have done something like this. I am a medic and just cannot believe that you not only did this, but are bragging about it.
Whenever someone calls requesting an ambulance and it is a dire emergency, there is such a thing called the golden hour. What this means in many cases iis that treatment by a physician must occur within this first hour to possibly save someone's life. What if a small child was choking, or was having an asthma attack? You could be the very one that causes the child to die due to your childless actions.
Have you ever heard the phrase "What goes around, comes around"? I hope you personally get to experience the consequences of your own actions one day. I hope that you have a very painful and horrific injury and meet up with another fool like you. I am not wishing that you die, oh no- I want you to live and suffer for a long, long time since you could not get to the hospital because some jerk like you pulled the stunt you did. People like you make me sick, and I am quite sure that I am not the only one who feels this way. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I was driving to my local dole office.....that says it all!!! Ambulances DO own the road. Get a job and get a life...which is more than some poor soul might now have because of an ignorant git like yourself...bet you are fat ...and smelly...bet you've got a disabled sticker in your car, under false pretences ...and greasy hair...bet your Mum tells you what to do...no one would want to employ you..loser...bet you'd put your foot down if Jeepers Creepers was behind you though...check that rear mirror

Sounds like a bad Reno 911 episode. You should send this to Comedy Central.

hehehe the funniest thing about your question is the amount of people who took it seriously.
Do you think the ambulance was rushing to give some of Yahoo Answerers a sense of humour transplant?

Firstly, GET A JOB! If this is a joke it is not funny!

Secondly, if I was driving the ambulance you would have been needin' one! What if your mum or dad or kid had been in the back with serious injuries. You are an arsehole!!

of cos they have to give way! there's someone seriously injuired or whatsoever inside the ambulance and it needs to go to the hospital ASAP. The person could lose his or her life if they do not reach the hospital in time.
