I have a gta vice city with two cd's, one that reads install disc and the other one is play disc. after putting the install disc, it installs for a while and then a dialog box appears saying that the game cannot be installed because some data are missing.....this is so embarrasing,,,can someone help me please???

The fact that it stops in the middle and says that it cannot be installed means that something is wrong with the discs. Are the discs original? Maybe the disc is scratched, or a pirated disc and therefore does not have all the data on it. What should be happening is that you insert the first disc, it will take you through the setup...once that is done it will start installing and near the end it will tell you to put in disc 2. It will carry on installing and then will most probably ask you to put disc 1 back in and it will finish the installation. If it is not doing that, then there is a problem with the disc or discs, unless your system does not provide the right provisions to install the game. You should check to see that it does. I realize you already deleted anything and everything but check for hidden folders. Do the following if you haven't already; Go to the start menu and select "search". In 'search for files and folders" type in "Rockstar". That should bring up all foders that are hidden for the game. Delete those. Run it again by typing in "Vice". That should get rid of all folders associated with the game. Reboot and then try the re-install.

probably a faulty cd, i had some of those in my lifetime. take it back to where you bought it...if you bought it in the first place.
