basically you cant as it depends on your isp, but you can use some services, to make you an anonymous visitor etc...

Question... why would you want to do this?

1) Your address is either allocated by your ISP when you log on (and it may change if you power cycle your DSL router) or is allocated as a fixed address by your ISP.

2) If you change it you may do one of the following:
a) Go outside the range your ISP recognises which means you are cut off.
b) Stamp on someone elses address by coincidence which means 2 people are cut off
c) Luckily find a free one and not be recognisedby your ISP as you and not served any web pages = cut off too.

If your address is fixed by your ISP, you may be able to ask them to change it. If it's dynamically allocated, turning everything off *may* get you a new address allocated by your ISP. That depends on the ISP's rules... they may give the old one back if you are off for less than a set time. Or you can change your ISP.

Consider it like your house (street) number... *you* can't change that without messing up delivery drivers except by moving house.
