If so, is that up until the 12 weeks or anyone been told to wait longer?

Bleeding can be quite common during first few weeks of pregnancy so it may be nothing to worry about but tell your midwife or doctor about it as they can check it out and find the cause of the problem. Avoid having sex until you have seeked advice.

i had bleeding at 6 weeks, i read that you should avoid sex for 2 weeks after bleeding stops, but ask your doc to be sure. Avoid it for a while at least, good luck x

Also a lot of women have spotting (light bleeding) during pregnancy so try not to be to alarmed, i was given an early pregnancy scan to make sure everything was ok, speak to your midwife

I dont think intercourse should be a problem, the bleeding could be the embryo digging deeper into your womb wall, this can sometime cause a little dotting. If it contintues, becomes painful or there is a lot of blood, get yourself down to the hospital.

See your Gynae, bleeding during pregnancy could be a sign of several abnormalies such as cervical incontinence(which could require Cervical encirclage),etc. However don't be alarmed because sometimes its normal occurence.Have a scan done to be sure everything is ok, and get advice on your sexual life from your Gynae.Good luck to you and the baby .Thanx.
