when booting hit f12 go and choose last known good configuration ,if that doesn't work try going to safe mode and doing a system restore under accessories ,system tools and system restore.restore to an earlier date say oh a week before you did this..should be highlighted in blue and then click ok..maybe you will get lucky .if not f disk ,format reinstall probably about time anyway ..its like an oil change has to be done every so often.

Use System restore in Start Menu\All Programs (WinXP) or Programs (Win98 & Win95) \Accessories\System Tools\System Restore Then choose the date you rememberwhen your computer was running correctly. You may need to restart your computer. If you cannot access your windows, when your computre starts choose "LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION" in booting proccess (All windows Versions)
I think it will not work on MAC users.

Go to Start,All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Choose System Restore, restore your system to a time BEFORE you added the service pack.

There is no need to reformat and lose EVERYTHING over this.

Try unistalling the service pack for one. Also see if you can restore back to a date before the update

You can either restore your system to the latter data here: start>>run>>"msconfig">> "launch system restore" or you can insert an original Windows CD and run repair procedure.
