Legally, probably yes.
They can refuse to do anything they like, it's their shop. Tell all your friends not to use them, they'll get the message when the business fails. There must be another shop you can use, or if you have internet access look the results up yourself.

maybe you have annoyed them in some way.

Just don't use that shop again because they are unhelpful.

Although most shops will, I think you will find that, strictly speaking it is illegal to gamble on a Sunday.

NO THEY CAN CHECK IT AT ANY TIME UNLESS THE SYSTEM IS RUNNING A CHECK THEN NO WHY NOT GO ON LINE AND DO IT
