They must have been having a better day, or it was a different person.
Last time I asked for directions, "get lost" would have been a much more pleasant reply!

I went into a petrol station to ask for directions and said "I'm lost!"
The lady behind the counter said "No you aren't, love, I know where you are"

Next time don't ask some guy that's sleeping in a cardboard box and smells kinda funny. Asking one of those guys that drive the cars with all those pretty colored lights on the roof might help.

It's more fun to give somebody wrong directions than to abuse them. They missed out big time.
