Yes, actually.

The discs are region-free.

All you have to do on your Wii is to change the regional settings to the US (assuming you're in the US). All the games will play.

This is directly from Nintendo.

No in theory.

Wii games are not zone free. In theory at least, a Nintendo Wii bought in Japan will play Japan Games, and North America/Europe/Latin America Wii's will play the games for that zone.
