i have severe arachnaphobia. i cant stand it. i wont sleep with a blanket unless its been shaken out thouroughly, and my bed isnt any where near the wall. i wont sleep with a sheet, or anything that a spider can hide in. before i wear my shoes, i have to take them outside and throw them agaisnt the ground, in case there is a spider in them. now its even worse when i see a spider. oh gosh. even the smallest little spider i freak out and must get as far away from the creature as possible, until is gone or dead.i cant even look at a picture of a spider without freaking out. its so annoying i just want to be normal!!!!!!!! i have no intentions of holding a spider EVER so dont put that in your answer, and i just dont know what to do! any idead to numb down my freakishness?!

Phobias are hard to shall we say "cure". You can try by just doing it step by step. Doing little things. Like watch spiders on tv. They wont be anle to hurt you. Then maybe put a spider behind glass like a window, make sure the window is shut tight lol. Then put it in a jar. Then so on. Try doing all those while doing something you like. Like eating or something. Something pleasurable for you. Classical Learning is what psychologists call it. Look it up. Hope that helps you.

Actually your phobia is not that uncommon and if you asked me I would say to pick a phobia you couldn't have picked a better one.The little buggers are dangerous and hide in places you least expect and then bite you and destroy tissue and cause people extensive pain when they least expect it and destroy tissue around the bite..very nasty little creatures but well everybody has some type of phobia they just don't usually tell anyone else about it.Therapy has helped people.Hypnosis ,anti anxiety , exposure to spiders but to tell you the truth i think you are very wise to have the phobia.. most people aren't even aware of places they hide or what they are capable of .. I wouldn't change if I were you .I would always be on guard..

Try not to freak yourself too much. There are a lot of spiders species and not all of them are poisonous or dangerous. Most of them are just nuisance. Also our houses are pretty much sealed and there's no way a spider from the outside of the house can get in without someone brought it in. Another thing, you're too big compare to a little tiny tiny spider for it to harm you. I hope I can say a magic spell to take away your fear on spider.

How about trying to fight your fear even in pictures so at least you can research for them and learn their characteristics and traits, that way you'll understand them more. May be then, just may be, you'll see that they are not so fearful after all. That you don't fear them after all.

Always remember you're bigger and more dominant than a little spider. There's no way it can harm you. There's nothing it can do to harm you.

I watched WAY too many horror films so now im scared anything will pop up in he darkish. The best method i would sleep is that if: - my ft aren't over the mattress intent: I suppose anything will seize me and pull me -my mattress is towards a wall intent: so i best need to face a technique, and wont fear that anything will seize me from my again -it's not that i am by way of a window intent: anything would possibly not come via the window -I am now not at the flooring with out anybody Reason: anything will seize me, and who will i deliver with me? :P So im almost always scared somethings going to seize me :P Fact: Most folks are afraid to spiders than to demise Its actual...however im now not frightened of spiders until they are tarantulas... Another reality: I'm terrified of being buried alive or locked within someplace darkish

Well unfortunately, one way of overcoming phobias is to consistenly put yourself in situations were you have to face your fears. Until then, only a miracle could save you to overcome your phobia. I was deathly afraid of heights. Always closed my eyes on rollercoasters and the like. The only way I got over my fear was to simply put myself in situations and just with time, the fear was gone.
