Yes Mr Darcy, all hot air, like me when I'm mad at you for bringing home chambermaids that are prettier than me (you know the rule).
But I've got something hot here for you, that you wont be able to find on National Geo channel....unless they do programmes on porridge?

There is little doubt that the World is warming, what is in doubt is the cause.
Mankind as usual is getting the blame from the same type of people that insisted , when cars were a new phenomenon, that someone walk in front with a flag.
If we were to take the steps that many so-called environmentalists claim to be necessary there would be mass starvation. We simply cannot go back to the old ways of doing things if we are to to meet the needs for existence of the World's growing population.
So called environmental taxes are simply a means of rationing that favours the rich over the poor.
Personally, I believe that global warming is caused by that big shiny ball in the sky and that we have to learn to live with it as best we can.

Lol!
There is vast amounts of evidence that the earth is getting hotter. Is man to blame? At least in part, yes. As to how big that part is, it's open to argument, but there is no doubt that the increase in temperature has accelerated since the start of the industrial revolution and tellingly continues to accelerate. Some of this warming is definitely due to natural causes, we're still coming out of the last ice age, so it's really a case of how much we're affecting it. My opinion is that we're playing a greater part in this phenomenon that we should for our own safety and the good of the planet. But as someone said earlier, we've got to balance the reduction in carbon emmissions with the need to make sure the world economies don't collapse, so it's a very difficult question to answer...!

Yes and no.

There is legitimate science to back up the theory of climate change. However, a lot of environmentalists are playing Chicken Little by blaming anything weather-related as a result of global warming.

The world is not going to end, there may be some changes, like those that have occured in the past, but nothing to lose sleep over.

Nice pun.
I think global warming is a naturally occuring event every so often. Perhaps man is influencing the effect(s) with pollution, etc., but tectonics and other natural factors are historically shown to affect long term weather patterns globally.

NO, IT IS REAL! It is proven that the earth's climate goes through repeated cycles. Each lasting many thousands of years. Our climate today is changing at an accelerated rate in comparison to that of the last several million years. The rate at which glacial ice is receading and polar ice shelves are breaking off, is very alarming.

Its a big bunch of hot air mate, and is being used by various groups to roll us over and do us up the pooper, thanks to the as yet unproven theory of global warming we have....

Groups like the self appointed busy-bodies at Greepeace, Friends of the Earth etc. who have seized on this in an effort to increase their own self importance by telling people what to do.

The government jumped on this one to raise the duty on petrol, introduce airport tax, hit business, and they will no doubt introduce road charging. Road charging makes total sense doesn't it, of course it does, we already have one of the highest rates of fuel duty in the world and lets not forget that a lot of countries dont even have a road tax, now President Bliar wants to charge per mile - as much as £1.50 per mile at certain times. Its all about money, pure and simple, Bliar and co. couldn't giving a flying fart about the environment all they see it as is a giant cash-cow.

All Bliar has to do is go on tv and stand there, all teeth and insincerity and claim he's trying to save the planet, hmmm just like he tried to save the situation in Northern Ireland, or Isreal, or Afghanistan, or Iraq, or the NHS, not much of a track record really, of course the enviro mentals will sieze upon this and back him up, it suits their ends because they want us to do what they think we should, he backs them, they back him, its reciprocating bullshit designed to meet both sides objectives.

It is a very real danger and is accelerating at an exponential rate.

It is caused by drinking tea.

As you know, the temperature at which water boils is lower at high altitude than it is at sea-level. As the oceans rise, more and more of us are living closer and closer to sea-level, thus needing to apply more heat to the water to make it boil for a nice pot of tea.

For this reason, we should all drink beer instead. I have submitted a white-paper to the cabinet on this very topic.

Good pun. It is a theory. What you don't hear are the possible benefits of a warmer climate.
