Its up to you if you want to wear make-up or not so don't do it just because everyone else is. If you do decide you want to and only mascara is the plan, then get the waterproof stuff so you wont have to worry about it smudging.

From an older person's "been there" experience, if you have clear skin and do not think you HAVE to wear makeup to cover up blemishes yet, hold off until you really want to wear it. It can and sometimes does cause acne, especially if you have allergies, or your skin is not used to being covered up... etc. It can take a while to find the right makeup that does not break you out if you have any sensitivity to it.
If you want to just wear mascara, or lip balm, or a little eye makeup... feel free to do that, it is not like there is some rule in 9th year or grade that says you have to wear it. Besides think of what an impact it will make at your first formal dance and you show up all made up after being more natural at school all the time. :)

How do you feel? When you look in a mirror or at pictures, do you feel alive and vibrant? Less is more is a good motto to go by. At least to look like you are wearing less. For fun...go to a makeup counter. I suggest Clinique...because it is very suttle and that's what I wear. Ask for a makeover. Tell them it is your first time. Your don't want to look "made-up" but what would they suggest. Probably just like everyone has said. Lip gloss, mascara, and a light blush. Also you may consider a light powder if you have oily skin. Like I said...a specialist will let you know what you personally might need. It would be fun and I think you might learn something at the same time. Macy's, Nordstrom's, and most major department stores have Clinique. Good Luck!

U R in year 9 , then Why not ?!!
not full make up of course , I mean : U can wear some flavoured lipgloss, a little blush... May be waterproof mascara (try blue , it's always cool )
Also colored eye pencils ( blue, gree,brown,... ) will be nice besides the blush & lipgloss..
But, remember that less is more & U'll look pretty with a little touch of make up, that lasts for long hours

If you think it is ok to wear makeup, ask your mom for some suggestions. She will likely tell you that less is more. I am a guy and I woudl agree with that statement. Some subtle lip gloss and foundation are all you should need. Show off you and not your makeup. As long as it is subtle, it should be ok. Ask your parents for advice on the particulars. Your dad is still a guy and can still offer advice as to what looks ok and what does not, from the male perspective, and your mom will be invalueable help from the female perspective. If you ever watched the PTL Club, remember Tammy Fay Bakker? In My opinion --- she looked hidious. Do not over do it.

Yeah, i began wearing makeup even as i become in eigth grade(13). i do not extremely see a project once you're wearing makeup at 14. basically be sure it isn't too a lot. perchance a organic coloration of eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss.

Haha, for a second there I thought you were w 9-year-old. Yeah, sure! I started wearing make up when I started high school. Just do one thin coat of mascara on the top lashes only.

it all depends... For me, I usually opt for eyeliner and mascara on my eyes, and a bit of foundation on my nose... if i wear any more than my face breaks out!! Alot of girls I know that wear full face makeup have bad skin issues... but if you want to go there then be sure to cleanse and moisturise every morning and night, or else lol... I'm in year nine this year, and alot of girls, including myself wear makeup... it's just what we do!! go for it... just be sure to take the proper precautions i mentioned, and NEVER pile on too much foundation so it looks like you're wearing a mask, and stick with your skin tone!

Well if ur school mates i mean girls of ur age makeup than it does not mean u should follow them. You are only nine. and i think it is not the right age to go for makeup even for mascara or lipstick. u shud b simple. But u must follow the latest trends in dressing or fashion accessories.

hey!

well i was in grade 9 last year, and im going to start grade 10 this year!!

but last year, i wore make-up, but not everyday...i probley would have worn it everyday but the truth is, if i did i probely would have missed the BUS!!!

so go for it, but just dont do anything to strong, just something natural and subtle, like mascara and maybe some conceler for under your eyes(or any blemishes your having!!)

hope all goes well for you!!!
