corporation and incorporation?

A corporation is a company that has incorporated. The "inc" you see after a companies name is usually short from "Incorporated," which means it has gone through an incorporation process to become a corporation. Why some companies put "Corp." and some put "Inc."? Usually a choice based on which one sounds best.

Corporation is a type of business. In this context, incorporation is the process of becoming that type of business.

In other contexts, the word 'incorporation' means 'to include'.

An example:

A barrel of apples had seven apples after the incorporation of the other two apples. Before incorporating the two apples, the barrel only had five.
