When I was in school, we just told the coach we couldn't swim those few days, and he didn't make us.

If the school is that strict, bring a note from home. The school can't force you to change your preferred method of hygiene.

If your flow is not too heavy, go ahead and swim without a pad. You won't leave a visible trail of blood in the pool if that is where you class will be. You said "beach fitness" so I will assume you will be going to the ocean or lake?? So who would notice anything?? If you flow was heavy enuf to encircle you in a red ring, I would rush you to the ER for hemorrhageing!!
If your flow is too heavy, ask the swim coach what the policy is about swimming during that time. Actually, you should ask before the classes get started. I bet there are other girls wondering the same thing.

The warnings that our grannies were given when they began their periods are bunk. It is okay to swim, jog, bicycle, ride a horse, play softball, and so forth. And, yes, it is even okay to have sex during your period!!! And using a tampon doesn't mean you have lost your virginity either. Move up to the 21st century young ladies!!
I don't know why you don't want to use a tampon, but, you could wear one just for class couldn't you?

I think if you gave in and started using tampons you will find it so freeing and much more comfortable that those hideous pads!! And much easier to get rid of!! You can put a pad in place at the same time you are wearing a tampon if your flow is heavy.

Good luck in your class.!!!!

You can keep your fingers crossed you don't get your period. You can stay out of the water. You can start using tampons. If you have your period, do not swim with no protection or with a pad. Either way you are releasing blood into the pool and so everyone else at the party will be swimming in your blood. Gross and unacceptable.

Girl, you need to be realistic! The only way to avoid messing up the school's pool and some embarrassment, is for you to just wear a tampon. Besides, school is more important than ur fear of tampons.

depending on what you mean as to "swimming" do you mean acually swimming or just laying around, floating in the water. something about the pressure of the water stops the period so you dont have to really wear a tampon in the water unless its a big flow. dont really worry about it. tampons arnt all bad, its just a myth.

if you want to experience the most embarrassing moment of your life by everyone seeing a bloody ring around your body in the pool, then keep refusing to wear tampons. you simply cannot wear a pad in the pool. won't work. now you can find small and easy to use tampons that will protect you from embarrassment while swimming. i'd suggest a smart investment here. use the tampons!
