At 16 weeks, your uterus is about 1 1/2 inches below your belly button and the size of a small melon. The fetus is about 5 inches long and weighs approximately 5 oz. He/she has plenty of room to move around until the end of the eighth month and the ninth month when he/she is bigger (so is the uterus) and you are close to delivery.

Not much...just enough to hold the fluid that surrounds the baby for protection. They get a little room to float around in there, but not a heck of a lot. You have to figure, you're uterus is only about as large as your fist, and it expands as the baby grows. Did that help?

Check out Baby Center on your computer. It gave me all the information I needed and more when I was expecting. (With photos of your baby's size and how much room she/he has in the uterus.) iVillage also has informational videos. Check it out
