Any ideas what's causing this? I've checked the main wiring and another shower unit of exactly the same make and model and the same thing happens. Is this "normal" or is there something else causing this phenomenon? Any advice or suggestions welcome...

Depends what you mean by "when the shower is off". If you have switched off the isolation switch, then either the switch is wired incorrectly (test this by turning off the switch then trying to run the shower - if it works normally, the isolation switch is wrong) or there is a capacitor in the shower with enough power to keep an LED on (confusing but not a problem). If you mean that the shower is off i.e. not running, this is common - the light means the electricity is available to the shawer, rather than that the shower is running. Hope this helps.

It probably acts like the "standby" light on a TV, which stays on as long as the TV is plugged in. In the case of your shower, perhaps it's there to act as a warning, that the separate isolation switch needs to be turned off before anybody tries to remove the cover and service the shower.

Yes, the light is showing that there is mains power at the shower. The switch on the shower switches the power through to the heater/solenoid.

If you shower light stays on after pulling the cord to switch off at the ceiling switch, then check the blue (or black) wire for the shower in the fuse box.

When you switch the shower off at the unit, then you are only switching the power off to the solenoid valve inside the shower which allows the water to flow, to fully turn the shower off, i.e. isolate from the electrical supply, then you must opperate the pull switch or other means of isolation provided for the shower.

I could only repeat Rebecca's comments. The POWER light shows that the shower has power going to it when the switch is ON. If it stays lit when switched OFF at the isolator, that's another story.

this is the correct operation for this shower. When you turn the shower off, (or press stop) at the shower the power light stays on. the light will only go out when you turn the power off to the shower, ie at the isolator.
