why are Americans considered to be the most intelligent of humans?

as an Englishman i have always been amazed at the sheer brilliance of the Americans,i wish i were one really. As my main expierence is by watching Hollywood films they single handedly win wars,control the world,keep themselves lean & trim and basically stand head & shoulders above everyone else.Funny though the ones ive met are just a flabby

Americans are not real, they dont really exist. They were imbedded into peoples minds to make the rest of the world feel inteligent.

That's odd. Most of the movies I recall seeing the British always came to the aid of the Americans and bailed them out of hot water. One of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters were the James Bond movies. As an American growing up during the cold war, it was comforting to know that the British had a handle on the bad guys, even if it was only in the movies.
The only war movie I recall that showed the British in a bad light was Patton. But everyone knows Patton had some personality problems.
In contemporary times, the British have had a huge influence on American culture. The Beatles and the Rolling Stones changed American rock culture forever.
I truly don't understand the animosity the British and Canadians have for Americans when both of your countries contribute so much to the American culture. As an American, I would hate to see a world where the UK and Canada doesn't exist. I don't know why that sentiment isn't shared.

No, it is Australians & New Zealanders who are the Super Race, on the so called Hollywood scale!
The major stars that play the Super Heros and Villians are now mostly Aussies& Kiwi's.
Think, Hugh Grant, Russell Crowe, Hugo Weaving etc. etc.
So many of the big budget films in recent years have starred our actors,even our piglets are starring in major movies.
If incredible special effects are needed,example "The Matrix" its done in Australia
.Whether its amazing animation, top post production,access to the biggest sound stage,top directors and the most the most diverse scenery imaginable.
Its all right here!
We have it, and its the best in the World.
Our actresses deserve a very special mention, as they have really taken Hollywood on and proved their credibility as real professionals, not just glamor Queens like many Hollywood contempories.
Australia actually made the first feature length film, ever made. We had a thriving film industry when Hollywood still had orange groves.
Admittedly it dropped way beyond par, as the world fell in love with all things American.
But we are definately back, in all fields of entertainment.
The World no longer feels that just because its American, it must be good.
Film making is actually an international collaboration of talent,maybe that is why there are so many top films.
Remember that reality doesn't exist in the entertainment industry,especially the movie world.
I mean, do you really think Sophia Loren looks that good almost buff naked at 72?

I dont believe there are such people as americans, unless you call the indigenous people, red indians as american, they are a hotch potch of all creeds and races, so are they clever, upto what you call clever, to be the richest country in the world might give them the edge, but if you look at the size of britian of japan for instance, just how poweful would these two nations be if they were the size of the u.s.a..think about it..

Tee hee , individuals the most wise ,, do not make me laugh.. ok ok ok ill rephrase that. u.s. is a superb usa, its complete of variety and wise wise human beings, yet to boot like everywhere else contained in the global there are others who a lot less wise and others who're merely dumb.. today in washington, the dumbest of all of them are scuffling with out with the president over a thanks to handle the looming debt disaster which hangs over the yankee human beings like sword of Damocles. in the journey that they don't come some sort of settlement contained in the subsequent few days the u.s. will default on its debt fee that could throw throw the full inventory markets global huge in to loose fall.. Its a actual shame that wise human beings can't make issues better out without risking a lot of others peoples money..

Good on ya Pommy your opening line had me going until I read the remainder of your comments. I believe that most Yanks consider themselves to be legends in their own lifetime and that they are God's gift to the rest of the world.

How ironic this must sound--even though a lot of the **** we are standing in is caused by the US, can you imagine how deep it would be if they weren't there e.g. would we all be speaking German,Japanese,Russian or Chinese by now?

The US is so full of double standards that it is unbelievable e.g. while it is waging a war on terror It's President is palsy walsy with the no1 terrorist's family i.e bin Laden; preaches justice but holds prisoners without trials (Afghans); doesn't want any more countries to have nuclear weapons but has enough to wipe us all out 3 or 4 times-did you know that the US not only tested nuclear weapons on its own troops but is also the only country to use such weapons in a war and I must add against CIVILIAN TARGETS.

The US is like most police forces--a necessary evil.

Lots of other cultures make movies, and some are just as lopsided. The problem is they have no distribution so every sees the American "crap". Just like most people judge Americans by visiting New York and other cities because thats what THEY see. Americans have some of the smartest, and dumbest people on the planet.

Americans are decendants of Europeans, Africans and Native Americans and Asians, influence and mixture of cultures, and plenty of money to try new things.
Not all Americans are flabby either. I am not American. I'm Irish and there are alot of of big Paddys and English people too..
Movies and Films alot of the time only reflect what people want to be or dream of. We all need dreams...

You made me laugh Johnny... You know the Clash song "I'm so bored with the USA". They are not that strong you know. They save the world inside Hollywood studios but when it comes to winning a war against tiny little Middle East countries, they find themselves powerless. They keep sending more troops while they should be doing is sending more staff to Hollywood to entertain the masses...
