I really like this guy but all my friends think he is weird and giggle whenver he is mentioned and make gagging sounds. I was stupid and to fit in pretended he was gross too but now i cant stop thinking about him and last night i even had a dream about him, what do i do?

I am kind of asking this question for my younger sister who is in grade six because she is too young to use yahoo! answers so she doesnt want old pple answers, she wants to know how to act and how she can tell if he likes her

Listen , this problem should be simplified instead of complicating.
u like him and ur friends do not.Then, discuss with ur friends about what u like in him. If u can't, then go ahead and tell him whats in ur heart.and take the action accordingly to his reaction.
But remember, the guys who behave this way are those special guys who can keep a girl happy, i'm telling u as ur friend and as a public-relationships cousellor.

What is it about him that makes your friends say he is weird? Think about it - and think about if it would matter to you at all. If it is something as unimportant as his style of dress or his taste in books or his interest in science - then YOUR FRIENDS are the ones who are weird.
Peer pressure is incredibly strong at some ages. Fitting in becomes so very important. But sometimes - when it's important enough to you - you just have to be "lone man standing." Everyone else may be bringing a boy to the dance - but since you REALLY don't like a guy - and you don't want to lead one on - you're "Lone man standing" Or everyone else may be bringing their ipods to school - but because your parents have warned you that there's a chance it may be stolen there and you know they're right - guess what - you're "lone man standing" or everybody is wearing abercrombie clothes - but you really don't want to have to *buy* your popularity. So - again - you're "lone man standing" And almost always - when you are "lone man standing" you have a higher set of morals and values than the others who are clumped together and "fitting in"
Decide if this boy is worth it for you to be "lone man standing" You'll have to fess up to your "pretending" - and show your true colors (which are probably beautiful!!)

Well, you've certainly come to the right place for some sane advice.
First, get cootie insurance, just in case your friends are right.
Next, get a "boy germs" vaccination from the pediatrician.
Finally, go play with dolls and pretend one of them is this guy.

try to go out with him, also for the others, tell them that it,s not nice to judge a person till you really get to know them, tell that the guy is not as bad as they think he is.so the old saying goes you can.t read a book from the covers.

Go for it-- you won't regret it, even if he starts irritating you, you will know what its like to date a hippie/skater whatever........ maybe it works, otherwise do it for the experience, besides people grow up eventually

hi my names lydia i have had trouble like this before and this is my answer: if you like him go for it and if yours 'friends' make fun of you then maybe their not really your true friends. this guy could be like a snake; underneath his skin he is great fun to be with and super sweet. go on! ask him out! girls can do anything!
