You cannot expect the government functioning to be based on competitive edge. There are not in production/manufacturing. What they should do is they should get rid of red tapism. Corruption is the greatest bane eating at the vitals of our country's progress. A lot of money is going down the drain. It has to be rooted out at any cost. There should be strict accountable and the vigilance need be fine tuned to bring the culprits to book. It requires a lot of political will to strengthen administration.

Afterall govt. servents are also our brothers and sisters. They are the products of same society. If we are vigilent and refuge to allow corrupt practices, how can they resort to such acts ? The confidence and strength of ordinary people will ultimately decide the character of a society.

Corruption is every where. Not just among government officials.

To “prevent” corruption in India, we need to solve “desperation” among people living in India.

DESPERATE
85% of people in India are desperate working slaves in an informal economy and their lives oscillate between fear and frustration.

EVEN MORE DESPERATE
The remaining well to do people in India are always in search of collusion mostly in the form of caste to enhance their wealth.

The Solution:
A credible basic “minimum” income guaranteed system for every one whether they work or not will bring in “dignity” instead of “desperation” in the working poor and “inheritance taxes” will stimulate “compassion” instead of “collusion”.

Such system will prevent all socioeconomic issues in India viz farmer suicides, dowry deaths, child labor, corruption, bribery, etc.

In Portugal, Brazil, USA, Belgium, UK etc this system is implemented.

Govt. servants are not corrupt. Society makes them corrupt. They see luxuries around them. It is very human to desire for such luxuries. Since their pay does not allow them to indulge in such luxuries, they take bribe.

I AGREE WITH KNOWN, BUT THE GANGOTRI OF CORRUPTION STARTS FROM THE TOP. IF THE P.M. & M.P. & C.M. & OTHER LOCAL POLITICIANS ARE CORRUPT, HOW CAN YOU STOP THEM ? THEY ENCOURAGE THE RED TAP BUREAUCRACY TO BE CORRUPT FOR THEIR OWN BENEFITS. POLITICS IS A BIG BUSINESS IN HINDUSTAN, & POLITICIANS ARE MAKING MONEY USING THEIR POWER & UNETHICAL OFFICIALS GREED. POWER & GREED MAKES THE WHOLE SYSTEM CORRUPT.
