Now that we've seen videos, read articles about how men are really being treated, etc, one can assume it would be just to create forums and discussion boards for men's rights.

Not to sound like a hater, but the fact is that most subjects that are routinely studied are lessons, histories, and chronicles of the things that men have done. Think of every history, science, literature, math, or any other class you took in high school or college. They all mainly featured men's contributions to their respective fields. Women's studies are there because women were routinly ignored. Women just want it recognized that we've made contributions to the world also. Why does this bother some men so much? I think some men would just rather whine than think.

Equality doesn't necessarily mean if women have something, men must have it too, or vice-versa. Equality means that things are not barred from one gender and allowed to the other, purely on grounds of gender.

Men's Studies probably isn't absent for any reason other than potential use - Women's Studies are popular because it is only relatively recently women have been given the same rights as men. I suspect one has not been created and is was deemed unnecessary, and I'm sure if it proves popular to have a Men's Studies forum, one will be created.

There should be a men's studies section on this site. Send an email requesting this addition to the Yahoo Answers team: y_answrs_team@yahoo.com

Yes, this section is needed big time, if only to give the other men writing men's issues in this section a new place to go. Everyone needs to send an email to:

y_answrs_team@yahoo.com

Not necessarily, only if there is a demand for it. Equal opportunity does not mean equal lifestyle. I frinch everytime when some feminist complains how there are so few female race car drivers or far more male astronauts. Is it a problem ? No !! Why should it be.

Yes, I think that would be the appropriate thing. But I suspect it would get a lot of troll activity from mean man-hating women. It would be even harder to get a Men's Studies department into a major college. Good night!

I have nothing against men's studies,
but if you look at the other subcatagories they are all majors/degrees people can obtain. no one has started a degree program for 'men's studies'.
I don't if yahoo wants only accredited, currently used social science programs or not.

So should they have White studies classes in college as well as African American studies classes?

Women are the oppressed group, which is why there is women studies.

Why not, women would not want to be known to do to men what they have done to women all this time. I know I will participate.
