I'm assuming I did something pretty awful to deserve that sentence, so death for me. For one I don't want innocent taxpayers paying for me to eat 3x a day, watch TV and play cards... and two, I wouldn't want to live with myself for life knowing I had done something that awful.

I think I ll chose death..The most obvious reason which comes up in everybody's mind is this:

I ll have to suffer less if I die at once rather than dieing everyday wen i get a lifetime imprisonment. But there is something more to it. I would not like to see my friends and relatives suffer everyday seeing me in this condition..that pain I ll not be able to take. Atleast if I die I know that after sometime the pain will become less as time heals everything!

I did 3 months in a county jail some yrs back and I am telling you immediate death for me that was one of the worst experiences I have ever had the hopelessness was awful and I knew I was leaving I knew the exact day I was sentenced imagine not getting up and going to your fridge or taking a shower or using the toilet by yourself or watching your TV no work to do no family or friends to talk to I was there from Halloween through the new year missed every family holiday I never cried so much in my life other then when my Dad died so if anything your tax dollars are going for people to be tortured don't believe me find out for yourself go to a public courthouse sit in the proceedings and speak out of turn when the judge puts you in contempt you will get a 1 night in jail card go and see for yourself it will not hurt your record at all it will your humanity for sure.

Lifetime Imprisonment becuase it would be an opportunity and God could use me. I would be scared half out of my mind. If I was looking out for me I'd choose death however My life isn't my own by my own choice.

Someone once said, "While there is life, there is hope." I'd go for lifetime imprisonment, and hope something would change. In the meantime, I hope I would try to continue to live my life inside a prison as best I could in accordance with my own beliefs; it wouldn't be what I wanted, by any means, but it would be life.

Im sure you could make something out of your life even if you are in jail.
As far as im aware, you can make life inside jail comfortable, with friends and even jobs.

Id choose life, but not taking into considersation the point that someone else made, it would depend what I had done to achieve a life imprisonment.

for me, i choose the lifetime imprisonment because given that opportunity would give you a difference by reconciling what you have done (if that is true) and you would still have a chance to be be free from that imprisonment by proving that your innocent.

It depends on circumstances but I would have to say life. I recently had a cancer scare and realized then just how important life is. Before having to possibly face death, I would have answered with death but after realizing I may not wake up in the morning and see my loved ones or feel the sun on my face or see all the vibrant colors, I have to say life. It is amazing what we take for granted...

Quite a good question. I guess I'll choose life imprisonment instead. If there were others with me I'll talk them to their senses, advice them if they are going out of jail soon. I can pray to God if I live, and perhaps be friendly with the jailers and stuff. I won't to look at myself in pain and horror at the execution process, you know.... Ever seen "The Green Mile"? That quite suits the theme of your Q.
