I know it's possible, but I just need a bit of a career guidance as to where to start and whether I should start in a different sector and build up the experience from there.

I really am confused. Some say that a university degree is not essential because it's a sales job, and then when I enquire about it to a certain consultancy firm, they would tell me that they only accept graduates.

Please help. Realistic answers please.

HI,
My girl friend is a recriutment consultant and left schjool at 16. She got a low level job as a call center operater in insurance then took a negotiator position with in the company then from there applied to recruitement consultancies and was given a job as a trainee. Six months later she's doing well but, it isn't always the easiest job to get, it's high stress, long hours, and as I go out with one I am fully qualified to say that the guy who answered first is absolutely right about them.

You have to sell your self either in an opening letter or by calling them.
I don't know why you would want to do it, its a rat race but like any sales jos you have to be determined and not give up.
Also like any sales job first impressions are the most important.
People make up their mind about people in the first 20 seconds. You have to get that impression accross or you will not get a chance to alter it. Send as many C.V's out as possible or better still phone or walk in be confident and smile(even if you are on the phone it makes a difference to how you sound) Put yourself in the employers shoes why would hw want to employ you. He wants to make money form you - sell him the the concept of employing you. good luck
