the book closest to reality and gives the real deal is the book "what to expect when your expecting" it has EVERYTHING in it! IT is the "bible" for pregnant moms.

If you're looking for the childbirth movie e-mail me and I'll send you the link.

What leads up to it?
The beginning of labor feels different for every woman. You’ll know you’re in labor when you feel frequent and regular contractions, the only true sign that labor has begun. The length of labor varies for all women. The average labor lasts 12-14 hours for a first baby. Labor is often faster for second and later children.

Don't read "What to Expect When You're Expecting". When I got pregnant, people gave me this book as the "bible" of pregnancy. Both me and my husband read through parts of it, and neither of us liked it. I couldn't make myself read through all of it, because it makes pregnancy and birthing sound like a hazardous journey of everything that can and will go wrong. There's very little of the book that focuses on the things that go right, and the positive aspects of pregnancy and birthing. If this had been the only book I read, I'd be spending my entire pregnancy living in worry and fear.

The Sears' Parenting library contains great books. "The Birth Book" contains great information to prepare you for the big day. Good luck!

Every pregnancy and labor is different. You can get ideas of how it works in books, but your labor may strongly differ. However it goes, just remember you will have a beautiful baby when it is all over.

I work in a labor and delivery unit and mostly all women poop on the table. Just something to consider! Sorry but true.
