I have this deep fear of getting dirty, it's weird. My closet has two stacks of clothes. One stack consists only of the clothes I wear to bed and the other stack has all my other clothes. When I go out, I'm not afraid of getting dirty. However, I want to keep my bed clothes and my other clothes "seperate". Like when I'm wearing one of my other clothes, I do all I can to not let it touch my bed clothes. It's weird. I take a bath before I go to bed and I wash THOROUGHLY (1 hour bath), and I expect my body to be clean. Then I wear my bed clothes so that my bedroom is clean. My parents are complaining about this. Any advice? :D

I think everyone has some sort of phobia. Some are very serious and interfere with the quality of life. If that is happening, you definitely need to get help with your phobia.

I have a phobia I have lived with for more than 60 years. My grand mother said it started when I was three.

I fold my dirty cloths when I take them off. I then put them in the dirty cloths hamper made of see through net I also fold Candy wrappers and gum wrappers before I throw them in the garbage.

I have been teased in a fun way, all my life. I have tried on many occasions to just throw my night gown in the dirty cloths with out
folding it. I have to walk by the hamper on the way to the bathroom. Three days is the longest I have been able to just leave it there unfolded. I end up pulling it out and folding it.

If I don't fold, it does interfere with my life because all I can think of, is that my night gown is there and I need to fold it.

I'm perfectly satisfied as long as I fold and I don't mind being teased about it. Everyone gets a good laugh at my expense.

I have two grandsons who fold their candy wrappers.

Sorry, I know you ask about your phobia and I end up telling you about mine. Just wanted to share it with you.

care to trade places with my son? your parents should be happy you wish to be clean. but.. if it really is a problem, buy a couple pair of sweat pants... for lounging, and possibly sleeping. oh.. and did you know that, when you take a bath, and wash all that dirt from your body, it still sticks to you in the water? you would be better off taking a shower, if possible. if not, use dial. at least that will kill the bacteria you have growing everywhere on your body.

well thats obsessive compulsive disorder you have there mate....

well wehn you try to start doing this try to think of something else that will make you bother for a while.. like eating something or chewing... any thing would do... like when you feel like your trying to be clean "obsessively" swiftly chew on a bubble gum and feel the taste of it, the flavor and stuff in it... in that manner you could trick your brain on it.... or you could try other methods... its best to visit professional help though.,...

slight ocd. Or you might just be very compulsive about a clean bed. Just because you are compulsive about it doesnt neccisarily mean you have ocd, but its possible.

it sounds like you have ocd (obsessive compulsive disorder). you don't have to keep living like this. between talk therapy and wonderful medications, you can live a normal life. it will only get worse if you don't get help now. talk to your parents and investigate what ocd is. my roommate has it very badly and often cannot function. please don't wind up like this!
