no not really... there's no point in upgrading in such small numbers unless its going to make a program run that doesn't with 1.7 gig.. if i where you and i was going to upgrade id just put another gig stick in

as long as the upgrade is concerned it is better to upgrade your hard drive or think to change your motherboard and CPU together. because if you want to go for memory. then you should think about memory technology that might not match with your current system configuration. same as other components. for example video card.
