I gave birth 3 hours after my mucus plug passes.
So I guess it could be anytime.
But my water broke first. So of your water hasn't broke yet, it might be a while.

A woman can lose a mucous plug and develop another one several times before she goes into labor. The loss of the mucous plug does not mean you will be going into labor soon. I lost mine when I was pregnant the first time, and my daughter didn't come until 3 weeks later and I had to be induced!

Passing my mucous plug was always the start of labor for me, my first was born 12 hours after i lost it, my second was born 6 hours later, but have heard of losing it weeks before labor, i'd say being that you are 39 weeks it won't be long.......best of luck to you!

I went into labor about 12-14 hours after I passed the mucous plug. Every woman is different, of course, but it sounds like you will be a mom VERY soon!

I have been pregnant before but never had a child (miscarry), however, a girl I know lost her plug but didn't give birth until almost a week later. Everyone's body is different, but a sure sign that it can be any minute now, make sure you have those bags packed and ready to grab. Congrats and good luck.

Everyone is different, but you could go any time. My second labor was 56 hours and that was strong contractions ever 2-3 minutes. Just do what your doctor said and when the contractions get to where you can't talk during them, go back to the hospital.

Of three children, only one was naturally born- my other two were planned C-sections. With the unplanned birth of my daughter, my "water broke," and this I know because water gushed out in a similar way of a heavy menstrual period. Once this happens, labor is imminent. Labor began about two hours later.

anywhere between 1 hour and 1 month. to be perfectly honest, passing you mucous plug means nearly nothing, other than your cervix is opening or thinning a little, which it can do thoughout the last month of pregnancy. sorry, but wishing you ~~~~~easy labor vibes~~~~~~

I lost mine about 12 hours before I gave birth. It's different for every woman though. It could be a few hours of a few days. Good luck!

I have read that it will be in less than 2 days, although my mom said she went a whole week after. Good luck with your new baby, mine's coming in less than 8 weeks!
