The court can still go after you if they believe that you were fraudulently writing the check. But the reality is, is that most bad checks were written out mistakenly. If you paid it off, and this isn't a recurring problem then it is probably just a matter of the procedure for the courts where you live.

What are the laws in your state regarding bad checks and what was the check for. In many states, a bad check written for services, like car repair, can be more serious than one written for groceries or merchandise. If this is the first offense, and you paid it and court fees, you will probably get a slap on the wrist.

as long as you have documentation to prove the balance was paid in full, the judge will just send you on your way. just make sure not to pay any court fees with a check!!

If this is your first time, no I don't think so. But bring your proof that you did pay for everything. You might get off with a warning, an order to go to a money management class, and or probation. Or nothing at all.

i would not worry if i were you. if u paid the fine, and the court fees, if they were to arrest you, it'd be unlawful confinement, bc u'd paid ur debt. like the others said, just bring proof u paid, and u should be fine. wires get crossed all the time in the judicial system, and urs might just be one of these times. if u've paid ur debt, and got a reciept, they've got no cause to put u in jail.
