I received a notice that the magazine bill went to the collection agency. Therefore, what happens if I ignore their calls and never pay?

Will they take me to court for $19.95 magazine bill or jail?

You won't go to jail for it. It's not enough for them to take you to court, either.

All that will happen is that it will go into your credit report. If you don't care what kind of interest rate you get when buying a car or a house, then all those little debts don't mean anything...but they will impact you negatively over time, and you'll end up paying higher interest rates for years. So maybe one is all right, but don't make a habit of it. Even better, why not pay it and keep a clean credit report?

Most debts don't go away after seven years either, like everyone thinks. They get sold to other collection agencies, who put them in again, and so they end up staying on your credit report forever.

Lot's of misinformation here....magazine collections can't go against your credit report....that is a fact because a magazine subscription is not a legal binding contract......THIS was established because of a forty year ago surge of company's sending unwarranted magazines to homes and trying to bill the consumer for something they never ordered...there are very few mail order items that you can be sued for...fight everyone by writing the company and deny the bill...if it does go against your credit for some strange reason you can contest it and it will be removed...man if you could be sued millions of Americans would own there homes over to Columbia house and bmg.....do some research people.....!!!! BESIDES YOU FOOLS debtors prisons ended in biblical times....nobody can be jailed for an unpaid bill unless it's a fine or debt to the court system...

No. It will just go into collections and make you look bad credit wise.
Don't ruin your credit over something so petty, if it's your subscription, just pay it.
