Yes you can buy non-fluoride toothpaste for babies in the drugstore.
You don't have to use a toothbrush at this time, but you can use a clean terry cloth to clean the teeth.

You should be wiping his gums and teeth after every meal, with a clean cloth. This does many things, one gets him in the habit for when he does start brushing his teeth and it prevents tooth decay...as teeth can decay before they erupt above the gums. If he has teeth and will let you use a brush just a little water will be fine...you want to get the habit established, I think you will find that he just wants to hold the brush and bite on it...this will be the case until about 2 1/2 or 3 then the brushing really begins. Good luck

Yes, you should start brushing his teeth now. The sooner the better, it gets his used to the idea, and prepares him to do it himself later.
There is a small amount of sugar in milk, not to mention the solids he eats, so it's important to start minding the teeth as soon as they grow.
I would also advise bringing him for his first check up at just under three years old - I did that with all mine, and got them used to the idea of the dentist being a fun place long before any serious stuff went on - and it has paid off - none of them refuse to go or have tantrums or anything, which makes it so much easier for all concerned.
It's important to hold onto baby teeth for as long as possible to set up the proper spacing for adult teeth, so the less trouble he has with them the easier things will be later on.
Good luck!

So about brushing your babies teeth, at 9 months old and with teeth you should be brushing your babies teeth. Even before a baby has teeth you should brush their gums with a soft brush and water. Now that your baby has teeth it is important to brush those teeth because milk can damage teeth. Brush them with a soft brush and water, there is also childrens tooth paste for when your baby is a little older, with childrens tooth paste, most of the leading ones have sugar added, make sure you read the labels and give your baby one without sugar because you dont want your little one to have cavities. good luck!!!

Yes! Absolutely. You should have started to brush his gums even before his teeth came in, with one of those little rubber brushes that fit onto your finger.
Brushing NOW will make it easier for you to brush his teeth once all his teeth are in. Otherwise, you're going to get a lot of resistance when he's older and knows how to clench his mouth shut!
You can also use a pea-sized amount of baby toothpaste (without fluoride) that you can buy at any supermarket or drugstore.

WoW full grown baby teeth already. I just brushed my teeth and was reading the back of the toothpaste tube. Children 2 years and younger consult physian/dentist. Might have to ask them, they're the experts. But I think just a baby toothbrush with no toothpaste won't hurt. What you think mom?

my little girl is 14 months old we rubbed her gums with a wash cloth before she got teeth. she got her first tooth when she was about 5 months old and we have been brushing them with a baby brush and baby paste since then at least once a day. she now has all of her front teeth and 1 molar coming in and is doing fine so i say brush your babies teeth other wise they can start rotting before they come in.

Its not too late to start caring for your childs teeth. As soon as one of my children got a tooth they were at the dentist as well as brushing the teeth. It overcomes the child fear of dentists if you can introduce them at a young age.

If you dont want to start the brushing yet, at least wipe them with a damp cloth. they can get baby bottle rot if you dont do something. i would start getting him/her used to a small tooth brush, without paste. then when you feel like its time add a tiny bit of paste. I saw the baby tooth paste just today. it has thomas the train and they have one with little bear on it as well.
